Alarm++

Privacy policy

Last updated: DATE_HERE

1. The short version

Alarm++ has no accounts and no sign-up. Your alarms, settings, pinned cities and playlists are stored on your device and are never sent anywhere. The only third party involved is Google AdMob, which serves the ads in the free version.

2. What is stored on your device, and only on your device

The app keeps the following in its own private storage:

  • Alarms — time, label, repeat days, sound, snooze length and time zone.
  • App settings — theme, clock face, default alarm, alarm volume, and the time zone used for new alarms.
  • Pinned world-clock cities.
  • Timer and stopwatch state.
  • Shuffle playlists.
  • Whether Premium is unlocked.

No copy of any of it is transmitted to the developer or to anyone else.

3. Your own audio and video

When you choose a video clip or a song, the app copies that file into its own private storage so it is still there when the alarm goes off. The copy stays on the device and is never uploaded. Files no longer used by any alarm are deleted automatically.

Choosing a file goes through the system photo picker or document picker, which hands the app the one file you selected. The app never requests access to your media library.

4. Permissions, and what each one is for

  • Notifications — somewhere for a ringing or snoozed alarm to appear. Required.
  • Display over other apps — so a ringing alarm comes up over whatever is in front, and over the lock screen. Required.
  • Unrestricted battery use — battery optimisation can hold an alarm back by minutes while the phone is asleep. Optional.
  • Do Not Disturb access — so an alarm is heard through Do Not Disturb rather than passing silently. Optional.

Also declared: exact alarms, full-screen intent, wake lock, vibrate, and start-on-boot — all so a scheduled alarm can actually fire and be seen.

Any of them can be skipped, and all of them can be reviewed or revoked in the app's Settings, or in the system settings, at any time.

5. Advertising

The free version shows banner ads and occasional full-screen ads through Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). AdMob may collect and use an advertising identifier along with device and ad-interaction data in order to serve and measure ads; the app declares the com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID permission for this.

See Google's privacy policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, a consent form from Google's User Messaging Platform is shown before the first ad request. Your choice is respected for that session and remembered afterwards, and you can reset or change it from within the app.

Buying Premium removes all ads — and the ads SDK is not started at all for a user who has paid.

6. No analytics, no tracking, no crash reporting

The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, and no third-party code other than the Google Mobile Ads SDK. The developer receives no usage data, no device identifiers and no personal information.

7. Purchases

Premium is sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Those stores handle the payment; the developer never sees or stores your payment details. The app records only whether an entitlement is active, on the device.

8. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Confirm this matches the age rating chosen in the store listings before publishing.

9. Your rights and choices

Because nothing is collected server-side, there is no account to delete and no data export to request. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored.

For ad personalisation, use your device's advertising settings — on Android, Settings → Privacy → Ads; on iOS, Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking — or the in-app consent form where it applies.

On GDPR and CCPA: no personal data is processed by the developer. Where AdMob acts as a processor or a controller, Google's own policies and controls apply.

The data controller for this app is LEGAL_ENTITY_HERE, JURISDICTION_HERE.
